1. burning on the ____ obviously needs a noun. The nouns are 3 dialogue, 4 emblem, 6 havoc, 7 hearth, 13 misdemeanor, 15 narrative, 16 overture, 17 pact, and 18 stalemate. Try each of those words to see which one fits. burning on the dialogue? burning on the emblem? burning on the havoc? burning on the hearth? until you get the right one that makes sense.Do the same with the other sentences needing nouns. Then pull out the verbs and do the same thing. Then the adjectives. And voila! your homework will be finished – and by YOU!

Verse XIIISeems to do the opposite of what you’re asking, in it’s ending, to me… referring to Death as a “distant drum”… not accepting the inevitability of life and it’s unknowns seems to me, like a failure to accept Death… detatching himself from it, by calling it a distant thing.——————————————Verse XVII really enjoyed this one, actually. It makes death seem like a simple truth… I interpret the “Snow upon the desert”,to be like “Life on earth”… and the line leads to the ending, which is a sunrise, taking the snow away.———————————————-Verse XVIIThis one seems like it’s intended to show royalty as equal, by pointing out that a sultan dies like every man… rather than the general inevitability of death. ——————————Verse XXVIIIIt seems like the poem got cut off… but, what’s there seems more like birth than death.——————————Verse XLVIIIThis one sounds more like the author stating his blindly charging towards death, instead of the inevitability of death.—————————————-Verse LXIVIt’s more of a statement of past deaths with a mere implication of future deaths… besides that, I just sort of disagree with this poem.—————————————-Verse LXXIThis one, also, seems a bit off of the topic of death’s inevitability… It seems the author is just making a statement about words being eternal……So, Verse XVI, is the only one which really seems to work, for me.
