Is Obama a “street fighter… with an ace up his sleeve” in the political sense?
Do ace-iron liberals believe that Obama is a “street fighter… with an ace up his sleeve?” What’s his “ace,” a nine iron? I find any “community organizer” that plays gulf, suspect.

I am very pleased with the purchase of the traveling iron. It is excellent. Has a long cord which makes it easy to plug wherever you need to. Also heats quickly and well. Easy to pack.

I bought this as a backup steam iron for travel but must admit I haven’t had the need to use it other than when I first received it and tried it out. That trial was successful and I was pleased so I don’t anticipate any issues once I really find the need to use it.

I purchased this iron for my vacation. The first time I tried to use it I discovered that it would not produce steam. The steam chamber is filled through the handle. Water that entered the handle did not reach the reservoir in the sole plate. No Steam! It was defective on arrival. DOA.

I was unable to get a full refund from Amazon because more than 30 days had elapsed. (I bought the iron for vacation and had put it in the closet unused. I never expected it would have to be tested).

I later called Black & Decker about this iron and was informed that it was discontinued in 2007. No where on the website do they tell you this. The iron was Made in China and is of poor quality. Do Not Buy!

I was looking for a traditional waffle iron with non stick grates. I love this unit because it makes 6 waffles at a time. The only drawback is that you have to be really careful about how much batter you use so it doesn’t run over on the sides. It cooks evenly, cleans easily (although I wish the grates were removeable), but it doesn’t get the waffles as crispy as I would like. Overall, though, I thought it was a great purchase for the money and would recommend it to others.

This is my 2nd Cuisinart 6-slice waffle iron — the first was smashed during our move. It makes 6 waffles very quickly so I can whip up a double batch and freeze for fast breakfasts. This current model seems to cook the waffles more quickly than my 15 year old model did — great! Unfortunately, Cuisinart removed the feature that locks the lid when turned on it’s side so that it can be stored vertically. But all-in-all, it is the best waffle iron I’ve owned.

I got this as a wedding gift. I love the waffles it makes– the timing device is really good on it. One drawback is that it is hard to clean since the plates don’t come out.

For those that have complained that they wished this made thicker waffles, I say, go buy a belgian waffle iron. This one makes great tradtion waffles. I grew up with my mom making tradtional waffles several times a weak (I look forward to one day inheriting that 40 year old waffle iron that still makes great waffles). I have been wanting a quality Waffle Iron for awhile.

The comment about waiting until completely done and letting the spilled batter dry/cook for easier cleanup is on the money with the advice.

As far as figuring out how much to pour…..every waffle batter recipe is different, the amounts of baking powder can very, the altitude your cooking at may differ from someone else, so when someone says use 2 cups, or 1 1/4 cups, take that with a grain of salt. it takes practice with your favorite waffle recipe. I personally do not use a measuring cup, I pour directly out of the mixing bowl, pouring across the center of the iron…..This is how I cook and I have quickly figured out the amount to pour by watching how much batter is in the iron. I find dipping a cup into the mixing bowl and the pouring into the iron can be messy and not all the batter pours out of the cup, so how do you really know how much your pouring……….

A few people have complained about this unit not having removeable plates, I think that is a good thing. the removeable plates that some waffles irons have can be a weak point trying to keep them to stay in place properly with how cheaply most products are made overseas these days….I refer back to the 40 year old waffle iron my moms still uses to make waffles for her grandkids (and her sons whenever we get the chance)….

Now that I’ve commented about other peoples reviews…………I really like the beeper on this unit, I do not have to have it where I can constantly see the light. Even though this is not that big of a deal as I have found with my batter reciepe, I do not have time to sit down and start eating before the next batch is read, and this is with it set on 3. I expected it to take a lot longer then it does, which is a good thing. My life likes hers crunchy, so I either turn it up for a batch or just leave them in a little longer.

Cleanup was simple, I use a rag dampened with hot water and wipe. I do recommend spraying the top and bottom irons before each first us with a non-stick spray, you will not have to spray again until the next time you get your iron out to use it.

We’ve owned this only a few months and if this waffle maker lasts past the warranty period, I’ll return to give it 5 stars.

It is true that one-waffle-at-a-time is probably too slow for a large family to wait for breakfast (or whatever mealtime is waffletime). Going instead to IHOP is probably the only real solution for that time and quantity problem.

But if you want the homemade taste of delicately done (moist inside, crisp brown outside) waffles, this product makes them as close to perfect (in our opinion) as they can get. The waffles don’t stick to the inside – and lift out effortlessly. We don’t use any spray or oil either.

Kool Whip, blue berries, real maple syrup – and waffles from this iron are hard to beat. These days more than in the past, “you get what you pay for”. This waffle maker is not cheap but it works as it should. Taking care of it, we hope it lasts for many hundreds of uses.

Gone through several waffle irons in 60 years, but this is the best. Ideally crispy on the outside and just right on the inside.
Cooks in a reasonable time, with a viewable light to indicate when done. Buy this one,

We’ve only had a chance to use this waffle baker once but I have to say, it was the best waffle I’d ever had. Cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. My husband cooked them and he said that the maker was very easy to use. No drips or spills. The first waffle was as good as the last. He likes his new waffle maker……

My wife and I are waffle lovers. For years we would go to the neighborhood IHOP and order their Belgian waffles, which are like seven dollars for one. Yikes! But they were just so good that we splurged. We did this for years until the management changed and the service and quality of food shot through the floor, while at the same time the economy tanked and we started watching our nickels and dimes.

So it was back to using a Sweet Heart waffle maker that I had bought her decades ago that made small waffles in the shape of hearts. Yes, it was sweet but you had to eat a bunch of them to match the one large waffle at IHOP.

Recently, as that old waffle maker was starting to wear out, and unknown to my wife, I plotted to buy her a gift since our 35th wedding anniversary was coming up. So I came to my favorite online store, Amazon.com, and perused the various models and read all the reviews. The Proctor-Silex 26500 Morning Baker Belgian Waffle Baker blew all the others out of the water as far as the reviews were concerned. I almost didn’t believe that they were completely unbiased, thinking that maybe PS had some of their employees game the unit’s reviews (just joking, but it does happen in some places).

Alas, that is NOT the case. I ordered the waffle maker from Amazon and within a couple of days it arrived while I was out of town on work. My wife took delivery of it, loving the surprise (husbands, take a hint and do this kind of thing more often and you’ll score major points with your mate), and she started making waffles for herself without me there! She said it was so simple to use that even I would be able to operate it (thanks honey) and that not only were the waffles just as good as IHOP makes, but they are so cheap to make. And the cleanup is a quick wipe and the non-stick surface is ready to go again.

Storage, as you’ve read, is quite ingenious with the Proctor-Silex 26500. When you are done, you close the lid down and then it sits on it’s end, taking up very little counter or shelf space. Thank you PS! It comes with a recipe book of different types of waffles you can make. And did I mention they are as good as the kind you pay lots of money for in a restaurant?

The one thing we did find out, since there is no “waffle done” light or sound, is that you have to use an external timer to time the waffles to get them just right. That was no big deal for us. We kept making waffles until we found the perfect time and they have been perfect ever since. We just use the timer on the microwave oven which sits just over the counter. The reason there is not a timer on the waffle maker is that you can make so many different kinds of waffles from different ingredients, and each kind cooks for a different length of time. So we experimented on our plain waffles and found that 3.5 minutes was the perfect time for perfect waffles, even though the book said 4 to 6 minutes. So you will have to experiment with timing your waffles too. And that’s part of the fun of it, isn’t it? You get to eat all of those experiments!

You can get all the technical information from the many other reviews here. What I can add is yes, I read the reviews, took the chance that everyone was telling of their truthful experiences and bought the Proctor-Silex 26500, found out that the reviews were indeed true and have enjoyed yummy waffles ever since, with the easiest of cleanup and storage, all for under $30.00.

So go on, be daring and get yours from Amazon.com today. With their return policy, you have nothing to lose!
