Pros: Once assembled the bowl and legs are very sturdy. The bowl handles a decent fire. It has a simple, clean design. The bowl isn’t fixed to the legs so it can be easily removed to empty ashes. The bowl is adequately deep. Assembly is straight forward.
Cons: The legs aren’t machined well meaning it might take some muscle to get the base assembled square. The bowl has a poorly applied copper finish. It looks like thick paint put on with a cheap brush. I missed the word “finish” and thought I was getting a copper bowl. Bummer. The cover is thin, doesn’t fit flush with the bowl and bends easily. The bowl and cover rust at the first sign of humidity.
I ordered this item as a Christmas gift for my husband. Unfortunately, it was delivered with a picture of the product on the side. Since my husband got to the UPS delivery before I did, he already knows what his gift is. Don’t order this as a surprise unless your gift recipient doesn’t live with you!
I bought this fire pit about 5 months ago and it’s awesome. It’s very stable and weather resistant. I left it out with no cover and just flipped the bowl over and it’s held up really well.
UPDATE Had for over a year, held up fairly good. It does rust if not covered and left in rain, but that seems like a normal happening, overall good buy.
The product arrived in good condition, thanks to excellent packaging. UPS was obviously practicing for the World Cup with this package. Assembly was a breeze. The fire bowl looks great, but the copper finish discolors once you use it. I expected that; so it is OK with me. I would recommend this to others.
Year’s ago, I had a hibachi when my wife and I were first married . We loved the way it cooked and its size was perfect for two newlyweds. Our children are grown now and we are back to cooking for two. I have been looking for just the right grill and saw this one. It has surpassed my expectations. Just the right size. We carry it with us out in the boat for cooking on a beach. The food taste just as good as I remember from years past.
All the other neg. comments are true. I had to work on this grill to make it work me. I wish I had read ALL the other reviewers first. The legs are uneven. You have to scrub the black paint of the grills. The grills don’t fit evenly and even cracked. I was able to grill but this grill won’t last. I wish I had sent it back and saved up for a better made real cast iron grill.
Bought this bor my daughter who lives in an apartment. Easy to store, (she keeps it on top of her fridge), easy to use. Small and compact. If you want to spend a little more and get something a little bigger and have it fold up too then do a search on “Son Of Hibachi”.
Unit arrived with incorrectly drilled holes for vent on one side. I had to redrill only to find that there is insufficient air space between coal grate and base of grill to provide enough updraft to ignite coals. Would not buy another.
Fits grill and works like a charm. We like roasted Veggies and this is a great way to prepare them. No more lost veggies through the grill. When we roast meats on the grill we only light front and back burners and place the meat over the middle un-light burner and because the griddle is cast iron the temperature is constant on the griddle. ***Note it is heavy.
This griddle fits 1/2 of my new Weber Genesis E320 grill perfectly. Before my first grill out, I pre-seasoned the grill and griddle with canola oil and baked it in for an hour or so. This is my first grill but have heard that this will help with food sticking to the griddle and grill grates. So far so good. The griddle has cooked some delicious veggies and bratwursts. Highly recommended.
listed as 20.2″ X 14.6″ the one that was shipped to me is 17.2″ X 11.5″ not even close. Box stamped with correct model number but griddle is obviously wrong one. Called customer service and they are shipping me another one. It also has two holes in the grease trap that the picture only shows one thus any grease going into the trap drains out one of the holes.
