We were delighted when the landlord got us a new stove, and we love cooking with gas, BUT even the simmer burner burns so hot that making slow things like spaghetti sauce was impossible. This diffuser has been used constantly. It is sturdy and works perfectly. I like the handle that allows it to be removed from the stove when hot, but am not sure if I’ve ever used it, as we pretty much let the diffuser live on a back burner. I am seriously considering buying another one so we can have TWO burners that allow for longer simmering.

We bought this heat diffuser to go with our Bodum Santos coffee maker, because we have a gas stove. It works very efficiently.

I’ve had this item for a month now-wish I had bought it long ago! It instantly fixed my problem of not being able to simmer things on my new gas stove because the flame does not go low enough. I have not had any problem with the paint “bubbling up” as on other comments. Great item! Highly recommended!

Not sure if it was me or the defuser but after using it for about a 1/2 hour with my tagine the paint bubbled and chipped off. Still worked well. However, don’t like the paint thing. Not sure why it has the paint in the first place.

I ordered this defuser because we had been given unglazed cookware as a gift. We have a gas stove and defuser works beautifully with everything. Sauces cook without burning pots and it is possible to keep items warm with stove set to extra low. Needless to say the diffuser is perfect for clay cookware cooking.

This arrived in a gift box which unfortunately I couldn’t use because of the large “Made in China” inscription on it, and I purchased this as a gift for someone who tries to abstain from China products. It also required the use of a screwdriver to attach the stovepipe, and there were no assembly instructions that I could find. My fingers got dirty with black dust after attaching all the parts and the black paint seems to rub off (and thus, the black dust). However it does look very cute and I plan to still give it as a gift without the incriminating box. I purchased this for under thirty dollars, free shipping.

I bought this for my mother-in-laws birthday, it is heavy due cast iron and the details are awesome. Loved this stove so much, almost didn’t want to give it to her.

Was hoping this would help me simmer items on gas stove without them boiling….probably needed to order a bigger size.

I purchased a barrel stove kit. the kit states it will work on a 55 and 30 gallon barrel. However the radious of the damper does not match up to a 30 gallon barrel. How do you make this work?

Great item for a heating source for my shop. Everything but the barrel and pipe needed for heating.
